To be honest, I don't get the big deal. Quality costs more and coffee is a luxury.

Hmmm, 50 cents a pound increase, eh? So, what - an extra 2 cents a cup? Outrageous! Let's all boycott the small coffee roasters in response to these gouging practices and save money buying those great big cans of Folger's, instead. From the big box stores; no point supporting local business. Because drinking small roast coffee is about saving money, just like drinking wine out of a box offers the same delight to the palate as a a special vintage bottle. Or tap water. That saves time and money. I'm going to rig up a roofwater runoff system so I can have water for my morning wakeup and bypass the whole commercial shebang.
I remember buying pound bags of Starbucks coffee back in 1992 for around $11 a pound. Seventeen years later SCW is selling at 13.52. Gas was around 1.15 in 1992 and now its 2.97 (or 4.30 in election years). Perspective, people.

SCW is a great value in Seattle. You guys have great prices even in the face of massive amounts of capital improvements this year. You are one of the good guys!

This post was informative. Thanks for explaining.
